Company history

MY NAME IS Luke Dynes

I started recovering crop by-products in 1999 for reuse as animal feed as a partner in Pacific AG Solutions. While building that company I got to see a real need in many industries for the same sort of mentality focused on reuse and upcycling. In 2011 I ventured out to start Wyatt Enterprises, LLC to start helping the food processing plants in the Columbia basin of Washington, drive value out of the by-products they create during the processing of fresh vegetables. In 2018 I had the idea to create a better process to recover packaged food and drive a upcycled value out of it as well, at this point Addie’s Alternative was born to be a better alternative for food waste.

In 2025 we added our second facility in Comanche TX dedicated towards food upcycling. In 2026 we are proud to announce that we are on our way to open a composting facility in Oregon to complement our depackaging and bulk feed business.

We are your one stop for all steps required to build a sustainable recovery/upcycling process for your outdated or out of spec packaged food!

We handle the entire process in house, from scheduling the trucking to pick up at your location clear through the disposal/recycling of the nonorganic material after food is removed. We understand that each supplier has a different set of needs, so we are more than willing to accommodate special requests of equipment, and all paperwork needed to make this process easy on our customers.

How the process works:

Supplier schedules a meeting with Addie’s to evaluate the material that is in need of being upcycled. We will then find the appropriate most valuable use for the food in the food chain. Next, we evaluate the de-packaging options with the supplier according to the markets that we will selling finished product back to. These markets range from the pet food industry clear down to the soil amendment industry depending on the organic make-up of the material. We are capable of handling dry goods, liquids, and fresh goods. In all packaging types from boxes to bags from glass to plastic containers. Through our specialized process and patent equipment we are proud to say that our facilities average a 93.25% recovery rate by weight and combined between the two facilities we have capacity of 2.35 million lbs per day.
